DR. SANDY PRITCHARD
Aesthetic (cosmetic) surgery is a rapidly-evolving specialty that combines extensive training and skill, with great creativity and ingenuity. A true marriage of artistry, science - and humanity. Dr Sandy Pritchard, an internationally-recognized expert in aesthetic plastic surgery, is the embodiment of all this specialty aspires to be.
As an accomplished flutist, bassist, and pianist, Dr. Pritchard has always had the mind of a scientist and the soul of an artist. Admitted to the University of Western Ontario Medical School after just one year of university, he graduated summa cum laude at the young age of 23. In June 1977, he began his internship at Toronto General Hospital, with a focus on surgery and emergency medicine. During this period, Dr. Pritchard began to develop a particular interest in plastic surgery, occupying one of only four coveted spots in the University of Toronto Plastic Surgery Residency Program. It was here that Dr Pritchard, recognizing the life-changing potential of aesthetic (cosmetic) surgery, first developed his passion for this sub-specialty.
By the age of 28, Dr. Pritchard was already a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in Plastic Surgery. He continued as a Clinical Fellow at the Toronto East General Hospital, and in May 1983 became a full-time active staff Plastic Surgeon in the Department of Surgery’s Plastic Surgery division at the University of Toronto, as well as a full-time lecturer.
Dr. Pritchard began his private clinical practice nearly 25 years ago, at the Rosedale Medical Centre. There, he focused on reconstructive, cosmetic and emergency plastic surgery, while continually teaching courses in aesthetic surgery, Within a few years, Dr. Pritchard had become a leading authority on cosmetic surgical procedures, appearing on television (CTV, CBC, Global and live cable networks), teaching at the University of Toronto and participating on international panels as an expert in liposuction, rhinoplasty, breast augmentation and facelift procedures.
In late 1987, Dr. Pritchard relocated to the Toronto Institute of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery in Yorkville, where he continues to practice today; a CAAASF certified facility with full aesthetic services including overnight stay. Over the years, he has earned a solid reputation as a highly-accomplished, skillful perfectionist, with patients hailing from every corner of the globe. Not one to talk much about himself or his successes, he relies on word-of-mouth advertising from satisfied patients to sustain his busy practice. Dr. Pritchard is also known for his honest and caring nature, often talking patients out of procedures he feels are unnecessary or potentially dangerous for them.
Dr Pritchard received his Clinical Fellowship in Plastic Surgery at the University of Toronto. He is also a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon, a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. His affiliations include active membership in the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Canadian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgery.
His private full service facility is conveniently located within walking distance to the Four Seasons, Grand Hyatt, Intercontinental and Windsor Arms Hotels.
